Job summary

YMCA of Greater Seattle is seeking a part-time onsite Lead Instructor for BASE programs, guiding elementary participants through sports, arts, STEM, and hands-on learning. You will support the program supervisor and foster teamwork and social-emotional learning in a safe, caring environment.

Responsibilities include promoting skill building, coordinating with school staff, and assisting in Play Everyday programs 2–4 days at midday. Must be 18+ with relevant experience.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• 2+ years experience with children (camps, child care, tutoring, nannying).
• CPR/First aid certification.
• Completion of minimum STARS required training.
• Food worker card.
• MERIT background check clearance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities within the Y curriculum.
• Supervise groups of children to ensure health and safety.
• Provide guidance to staff/volunteers overseeing activities.
• Communicate with parents/guardians daily.
• Follow YMCA policies including safety and disciplinary procedures.
• Maintain site appearance, décor and cleanliness.
• Assist with snack preparation and service.
• Check in/out for parents and support Play Everyday programs.
