Job summary
Sentara Health in Norfolk, VA is seeking an Epic Willow Application Support specialist responsible for day-to-day support, optimization, and enhancements of Willow Inpatient and Willow Ambulatory systems. You will collaborate with pharmacy leadership, clinicians, and IT to analyze workflows and implement improvements that support safe, efficient medication management.
This role requires Epic Willow certification and a related Bachelor's degree (or equivalent).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Pharmacy, Clinical Discipline, or related field (Required)
- Experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree
- Epic Willow Inpatient and/or Epic Willow Ambulatory Certification (Required)
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant application support, clinical informatics, healthcare IT, or Epic experience with a Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree
- Experience supporting Epic Willow Inpatient and/or Willow Ambulatory applications in a healthcare environment
- Experience analyzing pharmacy workflows and translating business and clinical requirements into system solutions
- Experience with application testing, upgrades, change management, incident management, and system optimization
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, pharmacists, providers, nursing staff, and operational leaders on application enhancements and implementations
Responsibilities
- Responsible for day-to-day support, optimization, maintenance, and enhancement of Epic Willow applications (Willow Inpatient and/or Willow Ambulatory).
- Collaborates with pharmacy leadership, clinicians, operational stakeholders, and IT teams to analyze workflows and implement improvements.
- Evaluates software releases, upgrades, and new functionality to optimize clinical and business outcomes while ensuring regulatory compliance and patient safety.
- Performs workflow assessments, gathers functional requirements, develops testing plans, and supports implementation of system enhancements.
- Provides application support, incident resolution, change management, and project coordination; serves as SME for Epic Willow applications.
