Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Senior IT Specialty Analyst to manage day-to-day Epic applications—across Clinical, Revenue Cycle, and Access. You’ll apply advanced healthcare workflow knowledge to assess needs, propose solutions, and optimize system use.

The role covers builds, upgrades, testing, incident/change management, and release implementations. Bonus opportunities and comprehensive benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant Epic experience with a degree.
• 7+ years of relevant Epic experience without a degree.
• Epic certification or proficiency in applicable Epic applications is required or preferred.
• Epic data analytics tools include Cogito, Cogito Tools Administration, Caboodle Data Model, Clarity Data Model, Access Data Model, Revenue Data Model, Clinical Data Model.
• Experience with Epic reporting tools, including Reporting Workbench, Radar dashboards, and SlicerDicer.
• 7+ years of experience with Epic reporting tools.
• Programming experience with SQL, SSIS, R, Python, or similar tools.
• Strong sense of responsibility, self-motivation, and self-management.
• Curious and quick to learn, with strong exploratory analysis skills and pride in the quality of work.
• Enjoys collaborating with others to find solutions to their questions.
• Familiarity with clinical terminology or workflows.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support, maintenance, and optimization of Epic applications across Clinical, Revenue Cycle, and Access areas.
• Perform builds, upgrades, configurations, testing, incident and change management.
• Lead smaller projects or components of larger initiatives when needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and end users to evaluate needs and implement solutions.
• Mentor and guide less-experienced team members as appropriate.
• Pursue opportunities for process improvements and enhanced system utilization.
