Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced BI engineer to manage and optimize our analytics platforms across the BI stack. You will configure, monitor, and maintain BI tools, ensure policy-compliant content, and provide expert support for Epic Cogito and related BI systems.

The role requires collaboration across time zones, mentoring junior analysts, and staying current with healthcare IT trends, EHR, and reporting practices. Remote-friendly with a standard weekday schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field required.
• Epic Cogito certifications preferred; Cogito and BI tool knowledge essential.
• Experience with Epic Cogito systems and BI content auditing.

Responsibilities

• Configure, test, monitor, and maintain BI platforms and servers.
• Monitor performance of BI tools and systems.
• Enforce policy-compliant content creation and educate analysts.
• Provide BI/reporting system support, including upgrades and security changes.
• Manage security access and simplify configuration for long-term sustainability.
• Oversee analytics content lifecycle, auditing and retiring content.
• Lead projects using approved tools and methodologies.
• Stay current with healthcare IT, EHR, and BI trends; mentor juniors.
• Collaborate across time zones; engage in architecture reviews and mentoring.
