Job summary

CDM Smith seeks an Environmental Scientist/Environmental Risk Assessor to support Human Health and Ecological projects within the Environmental Services Group. The role focuses on regulatory compliance across federal, state, and local environmental projects in CDM Smith’s portfolio.

The candidate will assist with site investigations, develop data quality objectives, QAPPs, and sampling plans, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement approved approaches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in science with professional registration/certification where applicable.
• Minimum 7 years of related environmental consulting experience.
• Willingness to travel domestically or internationally as required.
• Equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and RI/FS guidance.

Responsibilities

• Support site investigations and data interpretation for human health and ecological risk assessments.
• Develop and review DQOs, QAPPs, and SAPs for projects.
• Prepare CSEMs, HHRAs, SLERAs and BERAs for varying complexity.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and toxicologists on project approaches.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and client-facing support on projects.
