Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Environmental Risk Assessor to support Human Health and Ecological projects within the Environmental Services Group. The role focuses on regulatory compliance tasks for federal, state, and local environmental programs within CDM Smith’s portfolio.

The candidate will contribute to data quality objectives, sampling plans, risk assessments, and conceptual site models while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Science or related discipline.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Supports site investigations and data interpretation for human health and ecological risk assessments.
• Assists with development of DQOs, QAPPs, and SAPs.
• Prepares CSEMs, HHRAs, SLERAs, BERAs of varying complexity.
• Collaborates with scientists, geologists, engineers, and toxicologists on project approaches.
• Provides technical evaluation of project documents for oversight projects.
• Mentors junior staff and supports skill growth within the discipline.
• Contributes to proposals in response to RFPs with sales staff.
• Develops white papers on emerging environmental issues.
• Presents at conferences to raise visibility of firm offerings.
• Performs other duties as required.
