Job summary

CDM Smith seeks an Environmental Scientist/Environmental Risk Assessor to support Human Health and Ecological projects in the Environmental Services Group. The role focuses on regulatory compliance for federal, state, and local projects in CDM Smith’s portfolio.

Ideal candidates have strong data interpretation, modeling, and collaboration skills, with travel as required to meet project demands and client needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in science or related field; professional registration/certification preferred.
• 7 years of related environmental consulting experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support site investigations and HSRA/ERAs; interpret data.
• Develop DQOs, QAPPs, and SAPs for projects.
• Prepare CSEMs, HHRAs, SLERAs, BERAs (basic to high complexity).
• Collaborate with scientists, geologists, engineers, and toxicologists on project approaches.
• Provide technical evaluation on oversight projects and client meetings.
• Mentor junior staff and train colleagues within the discipline.
• Support proposals and RFP responses and contribute to white papers.
• Present at conferences to raise visibility of firm’s products and services.
