Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students in elementary to high school, helping them gain academic success, improve attendance, and build positive behaviors. You’ll plan and monitor progress and collaborate with teachers on in-class support.

The program includes 2–4 weeks of training, a focus on whole-school initiatives, and benefits designed for service members, including health benefits, a living stipend, and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; 2–4 weeks training provided.
• Assist in literacy and math activities with students.
• Plan and monitor progress with teachers and adjust supports.
• Support classroom instruction and student engagement.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and math activities tailored to each student.
• Create and implement positive behavior plans.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor progress and review data.
• Support whole-school engagement initiatives.
