Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to help them earn academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors in the classroom. You’ll plan and monitor individual progress, support teachers, and contribute to whole-class instruction and in-class student assistance.

The program provides 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year, a bi-weekly living stipend, relocation support where needed, and location-specific benefits.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; training provided.
• Ability to work with students in grades K-12.
• Capable of collaborating with teachers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Support literacy and math development through activities.
• Assist with classroom instruction and student progress tracking.
• Help plan and run after-school and extracurricular programs.
• Create a safe, engaging classroom environment.
