Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across elementary to high school, helping them earn academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors.

You will receive 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year and work with teachers and school staff to support classrooms and school initiatives. This entry-level, full-time role offers a bi-weekly living stipend and AmeriCorps benefits.

Qualifications

• Coaching and mentoring students to improve academic outcomes.
• Plan and monitor student progress with teachers.
• Develop literacy and math skills through varied activities.

Responsibilities

• Support academic coaching and interpersonal development for students.
• Work 1:1 and in small groups with identified students.
• Collaborate with teachers to collect and analyze student progress data.
• Create a positive, engaging classroom space in partnership with teachers.
• Assist with whole-school initiatives and after-school programs.
