Job summary

BD is hiring a Automation Servicer Engineer to service Advanced Diagnostics customers across assigned territories, with national support as needed. You will install, calibrate, repair, and upgrade laboratory instruments, including LC/MS and related systems, while traveling up to 50% and occasionally overnight.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related fields, strong electronics/mechatronics knowledge, and the ability to work independently with IT coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Electrical/electronic systems knowledge including PLCs and pneumatics.
• Ability to converse with IT staff to schedule software upgrades.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and participate in on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, upgrade, and repair instruments to meet specs.
• Drive field service revenue through preventive maintenance and moves.
• Communicate work performed and follow-up plans to customers.
• Schedule and perform system upgrades with customers.
• Document customer complaints and manage records.
• Maintain inventory, vehicle, and tools in good condition.
• Respect BD expense guidelines and credentialing requirements.
• Participate in on-call coverage approximately every 6 weeks.
