Job summary

BD is seeking an Automation Servicer Engineer to service advanced diagnostic instruments nationwide from Reston, VA. The role requires travel, on‑call responsibilities, and hands‑on repair capabilities across laboratory systems, LC/MS, and related equipment.

You will respond to customer needs, perform installations, upgrades, and repairs, and collaborate across teams to ensure equipment meets specifications while maintaining safety standards and professional appearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years of relevant experience in complex electro‑mechanical or electronic systems.
• Understanding of electronics, electro‑mechanical devices (Mechatronics), PLCs, and pneumatics.
• Intermediate knowledge of information systems networking and IT coordination for software upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer needs and perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs of instruments.
• Drive field service revenue through preventive maintenance and equipment moves.
• Communicate work performed and provide follow‑up plan as needed.
• Schedule and complete system upgrades with customers.
• Document all customer complaints in appropriate systems of record.
