Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician in Wilmington. No experience is required as you will be trained under experienced professionals to safely perform field activities, tests, and data collection on construction sites.

Starting pay is $18–$20 per hour with opportunities to earn certifications in soils, concrete, and radiation safety as you progress within the company. This on-site role emphasizes development through OSHA 10 and related programs.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
• Willing to develop understanding of CMT principles and ASTM laboratory standards and certifications.
• OSHA 10 certification may be required.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading and writing).
• Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: observe, test and sample materials on project sites under guidance.
• Testing Procedures: perform routine field/lab tests for soils, aggregates and concrete.
• Data Collection: calculate and reduce data from tests and sampling; assist with drafting and admin duties.
• Communication: maintain daily site communications with contractors and project managers; report changes.
• Training and Development: learn ECS methods for observations, inspections and testing; document findings precisely.
