Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join our Asheville team. No experience required as you learn under supervision to perform observation, testing, and sampling of soils, aggregates, and concrete on project sites.

You will receive hands-on training and work with senior staff toward certifications in soils, concrete, and radiation safety, with a valid driver’s license and ability to lift 85 pounds required.

Qualifications

• No experience required; paid training provided.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Must have a valid driver's license and insurance.
• Willing to develop understanding of CMT principles and ASTM standards.
• OSHA 10 certification may be required.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of soils, aggregates, and concrete on project sites.
• Perform routine field and/or laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete following industry standards.
• Collect data and perform calculations and data reduction based on results.
• Maintain daily communication with site contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Receive training in ECS methodology and document findings precisely.
