Job summary

ECS Group of Companies, De Pere, WI, is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician with no prior experience. You will train under seasoned professionals to observe, sample, and test soils, aggregates, and concrete at project sites.

You'll learn ASTM standards, safety practices, and data collection while supporting field activities and reporting. The company covers certification fees and offers paid training to develop your CMT credentials.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
• Willing to develop understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
• OSHA 10 certification may be required.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: Observe, test, and sample materials (soils, aggregates, concrete) at project sites under supervision.
• Testing Procedures: Perform field and/or lab tests following industry standards.
• Data Collection: Perform calculations and data reduction from test results and sampling.
• Communication: Maintain daily communication with site contractors and project managers; report site changes.
• Training and Development: Receive training in ECS methodology for project observations, inspections, and testing.
