Job summary

BECU, a leading credit union, is seeking a Director of Technology to shape strategy across payments, wealth management, and lending. You’ll lead engineering and delivery teams, drive modernization and cloud adoption, and partner with Product, Risk, Legal, and Compliance to deliver member-centric outcomes.

You will build a high-performing team, coach leaders, create roadmaps, manage budgets, and ensure governance across initiatives. Remote-eligible with occasional HQ visits for collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of information technology experience with demonstrated expertise in application design.
• 7 years of experience leading technology teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead technology strategy and delivery across multiple financial services domains.
• Own a high-impact portfolio and accountability across delivery ecosystems.
• Identify and mitigate risks and dependencies beyond the tech portion of initiatives.
• Drive modernization via cloud, APIs, SaaS, automation, and modern architecture.
• Build and develop a high-performance technology team with coaching and succession planning.
• Advance engineering excellence with CI/CD, quality engineering, and automated testing.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations, Risk, Legal, Compliance, and other stakeholders to co-create roadmaps.
• Manage portfolio financials and vendor relationships to ensure outcomes and value.
