Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. in the New York metro area seeks a Solutions Engineer to serve as a trusted advisor on enterprise opportunities. You will join a cross-functional Account Team in a pre-sales capacity, configuring Cisco solutions and demonstrating value to customers.

Responsibilities include designing architecture, presenting demonstrations, and shaping proposals with Account Managers and Product Specialists. This role requires NYC-area travel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience in technical sales, pre-sales, or client-facing consulting roles.
• Cisco product experience or relevant experience with key competitor offerings.
• Pre-sales experience, with the ability to translate technical solutions into business value.
• A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Professional certifications (e.g., CCIE, CCNP, CCNA) or equivalent are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• You will be a member of a customer Account Team in a pre-sales technical role, showcasing Cisco product solutions—setting up demonstrations and explaining features and benefits to customers—and designing and configuring products to meet specific customer needs
• Collaborate with Account Managers, Product Specialists, etc. to present solutions and support overall architecture development for global customers
• Provide solution and architectural perspectives across the Cisco product portfolio and use technical specialization for opportunities
• Act in a consultative fashion and become a trusted technical advisor for the account team and customers
• Keep up-to-date on Cisco innovations and relevant competitors’ solutions, products and services
• Assist with the development and execution of formal sales plans and RFPs for assigned accounts
