Job summary

Exelon is seeking a Project Manager for utility/construction/engineering projects (not IT PM). You will manage scope, schedule, budget, and safety across cross-functional teams on transmission, substation, distribution, and gas projects.

Budgets usually range from $250K to $5 million, with potential extended hours during storms or energy emergencies. You will lead or support project teams, coordinate with stakeholders, and communicate project status to sponsors and executives, while coaching

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field and 2 - 4 years relevant project management or related experience, OR in lieu of degree, High School Diploma and 3 - 6 years relevant project management or related experience
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus, establish trust, communicate effectively and foster culture change
  • Ability to work independently and as a team leader including the ability to handle conflicting priorities in a multi-task environment
  • Demonstrated leadership, communications and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process enhancements and efficiencies including technology and performance
  • Demonstrated strong judgment and time management skills
  • Demonstrated project management skills, writing skills and PC skills including Work, Excel, Access, Power Point, Project, Passport

Responsibilities

  • Lead or support overall project and program performance for multiple projects and programs including transmission, substation, distribution, gas, and organizational initiatives.
  • Manage costs, schedule, scope and risks; develop recovery plans to stay within approved limits.
  • Coordinate project requirements with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Build effective relationships with team members, line managers, internal interfacing organizations and contract service providers.
  • Serve as primary communicator with sponsor and key stakeholders on project issues at executive level.
  • Coach and lead team members to ensure responsibilities are fulfilled at task level.
  • Identify and obtain project team resources with assistance from Manager Project Management.
