Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current state nursing licensure in good standing.
• BLS or BCLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• PALS certification if pediatric care is included within 90 days.
• GI Nursing specialty certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop perioperative patient plan of care for endoscopy.
• Safely operate equipment and follow safety protocols.
• Administer medications using the eight rights of medication administration.
• Monitor patient recovery from anesthesia (moderate sedation and MAC).
• Maintain infection control and aseptic technique.
• Communicate patient status across care continuum and perform handoffs.
