Job summary

SCA Health, Highlands Ranch Surgery Center in Colorado, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in Endoscopy to develop perioperative care plans and deliver high-quality patient care. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safety and advocate for patients throughout the perioperative process.

Responsibilities include monitoring patients, administering medications, and ensuring equipment readiness while upholding infection-control standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current state RN license in good standing.
• Minimum of one year GI, OR, and/or medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Current BLS/BCLS certification (or completion within 90 days of hire).
• Current ACLS certification (or completion within 90 days of hire).
• PALS certification required if pediatric care is included in the facility’s scope of services (or completion within 90 days of hire).
• Specialty certification in GI Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized perioperative plans of care.
• Advocate for patient safety, rights, dignity, and privacy.
• Administer medications safely using the 8 Rights of Medication Administration.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, including moderate sedation and MAC.
• Perform ongoing assessments and interventions to maintain physiologic stability and prevent infection.
• Ensure proper scope and equipment preparation; recognize and troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Practice aseptic technique and adhere to infection‑prevention standards.
• Educate patients and support persons regarding procedures, recovery, and care expectations.
• Communicate patient status and provide accurate hand‑off reports.
• Document care accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members.
• Participate in quality improvement, training, and safety huddles.
• Comply with SCA policies, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines.
