Job summary

SCA Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Endoscopy suite in a perioperative setting. The role involves preop duties, intraoperative assistance, and recovery room care to support endoscopy procedures. Flexibility across care roles is essential.

Candidates must hold a nursing degree and current state licensure. BLS and ACLS are required, with PALS if pediatric care is involved. GI/OR nursing experience is preferred; see facility policies for additional qualifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current state nursing licensure in good standing.
• Successful completion of BLS (or BCLS) certification.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• PALS certification is required when pediatric care is included in the facility scope.
• GI nursing specialty is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop an individualized perioperative plan of care.
• Protect patient from injury and ensure safety in the perioperative setting.
• Safely operate equipment and report unsafe conditions.
• Advocate for patient safety and communicate status across care continuum.
• Administer medications using the 8 rights of medication administration.
• Maintain aseptic technique and universal precautions.
• Prepare endoscopy scopes and instruments for use; troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Monitor patient recovery from anesthesia and manage sedation as needed.
• Provide education to patients and families about care expectations and post-procedure care.
