Job summary

Maersk is seeking a CHB Operations Associate to manage end-to-end customs brokerage operations for a dedicated portfolio of accounts in the United States. You will serve as the main contact for customers and coordinate with carriers, government agencies, and internal teams to ensure compliance and timely shipments.

You will own daily operations, process U.S. Customs entries, maintain documentation, and drive KPI performance.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months of customs brokerage or related industry experience
• At least 2 years in a CHB or operational support environment preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working under pressure
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Team-focused mindset with ownership and accountability
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent work experience)
• Customs House Broker License preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted point of contact for customers, responding to questions and providing timely, accurate shipment updates
• Prepare and process U.S. Customs entries and PGA filings, ensuring full regulatory compliance
• Open and manage entry files in alignment with defined KPIs and service standards
• Coordinate shipment clearance with freight forwarders, steamship lines, airlines, and CFS to ensure timely release
• Track and trace inbound shipments from port or airport through final delivery
• Ensure all required documentation and entry packages are uploaded into operating systems
• Complete customer billing, delivery orders, and required operational reports
• Maintain and update customer SOPs as needed
• Collaborate with teammates and cross-functional partners to support coverage, cross-training, and peak-volume needs
