Job summary

Maersk is seeking a CHB Operations Associate in New York to manage end-to-end customs brokerage for a dedicated portfolio of accounts, partnering with customers, carriers, agencies, and internal teams. You will own daily operations, prepare U.S.

customs entries and PGA filings, coordinate with forwarders, track shipments, and ensure compliance, billing, and SOP updates in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months of customs brokerage or related industry experience.
• At least 2 years in a CHB or operational support environment preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent work experience).
• Customs House Broker License preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Own daily customs brokerage operations for assigned customers.
• Serve as primary contact for customers with shipment updates.
• Prepare and process U.S. Customs entries and PGA filings.
• Open and manage entry files aligned with KPIs and service standards.
• Coordinate clearance with forwarders, steamship lines, airlines, and CFS.
• Track shipments from port/airport to final delivery.
• Complete billing, delivery orders, and required reports.
• Update customer SOPs as needed.
• Collaborate with teammates to support coverage and peak-volume needs.
