Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations. You will apply EMT training to determine donor eligibility, conduct health screening, and assist in donor safety and care.

This role reports to the Plasma Center Manager in a fast-paced environment. Requirements include active EMT licensure (EMT-B/A/I/P), LPN/LVN, or RN with current CPR/AED, and at least two years in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Licensed in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P, LPN/LVN, or RN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility through informed consent, medical history, physical exam, and testing per SOPs.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per center SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical issues and donor safety.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage occupational health incidents and coordinate with EHS as needed.
