Job summary

911 Emergency Communications is seeking Emergency Medical Dispatchers for Middleboro, MA. Dispatchers gather patient and incident details, set response priorities, and coordinate emergency medical resources following approved protocols.

Shifts may include nights, weekends, holidays, rotating schedules, and overtime. A high school diploma or equivalent is commonly required; Emergency Medical Dispatcher certification and CPR may be required, while EMT/paramedic credentials are not universal

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or recognized equivalent is commonly required.
• Emergency Medical Dispatcher certification may be required before appointment.
• CPR certification and related coursework may be required.

Responsibilities

• Receive calls involving illness, injury, and other medical emergencies
• Confirm the patient’s location, callback number, and access details
• Ask approved questions about the patient’s condition
• Determine response priority through the authorized medical dispatch system
• Dispatch or coordinate ambulance resources when included in the assignment
• Provide protocol-based instructions within current qualifications
• Relay patient information and scene hazards to responding personnel
• Document call processing and participate in quality-review activities
