Job summary

Caretenders Home Health, part of LHC Group and the Optum family, is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and patient education aligned with the established plan of care. Responsibilities include following state PT laws, guiding patients through active and passive exercises, gait and mobility training, and coordinating with the healthcare team.

Weekend availability is required; CPR certification is preferred or obtainable within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• CPR certification preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing home health PT and adhere to the supervising PT's plan of care.
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercises, gait, ADL, and mobility training.
• Observe and report patient responses and coordinate care with the health team.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy within the PTA scope.
