Job summary

At Home Healthcare, a member of the LHC Group family within UnitedHealth Group, is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant to contribute to patient well-being through skilled therapy in home settings.

As part of a nationwide team, you will follow the plan of care under a supervising PT, educate patients and families, and coordinate care with the health team. Weekend rotation and a valid PT support license are required in many states.

Qualifications

• Must hold current license/certification to assist in physical therapy in the state of practice.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with vehicle insurance or reliable transportation.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws and the supervising PT plan of care; perform only procedures you are qualified and trained for, and suggest changes to the plan of care as needed.
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, transfer, safety and prosthetic training.
• Observe, records, and report patient responses; coordinate care with the health team as appropriate.
• Educate patient, family, caregiver, and others in therapy areas within PT assistant scope.
• Function in home settings regardless of client background.
