Job summary

Work Opportunities Unlimited is seeking an Employment Specialist (Career Resource Specialist) to help individuals with diverse skills find meaningful employment. You will guide students to develop career goals, create resumes, and coach them for interviews.

The role includes supporting students at job sites and occasional transportation with mileage reimbursement, in a collaborative team setting. The position operates Monday–Friday during daytime hours, with part-time hours (minimum 20 hours).

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and comfortable traveling within your local community.
• Experience in high-touch customer service environments.
• Passionate about working with students (ages 14+)
• Thrives in a collaborative team yet can work independently.

Responsibilities

• Guide students to develop career goals and objectives.
• Assist in creating customized resumes and completing applications for jobs or school admissions.
• Coach and prepare for interviews.
• Assist students at their job sites to ensure success and independence.
• Provide occasional transportation to interviews and milestones (mileage reimbursement).

As an Employment Specialist (known internally as a Career Resource Specialist) you will help individuals find meaningful employment.

A typical day might include the following:

• Guiding students to develop career goals andobjectives

• Helping students create a customized resume and complete applications for either jobs or school admissions

• Coaching and preparing for interviews

• Assistingstudents at their job sites to ensure success and independence
• Provide occasional transportation to interviews and other essential employment milestones, while supporting individuals towards independent community travel. (mileage reimbursement provided)
