Work Opportunities Unlimited (WOU) is an ESOP employer in Fitchburg, MA, seeking an Employment Specialist to help individuals find meaningful employment. You will support clients with career goals, resume development, and interview prep while engaging local businesses for opportunities.

The role involves community-based travel, coaching at job sites, and daily collaboration with a team. Monday–Friday daytime hours with potential part-time flexibility; mileage reimbursement is provided.

• Experience in high-touch customer service environments.
• Able to travel within local community.
• Proficiency with MS Office and mobile apps.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in developing career goals and objectives.
• Teach resume writing, job applications, cover letters, and interview preparation.
• Engage with local businesses to identify job opportunities.
• Coach and guide individuals at job sites.
• Travel locally in your own vehicle to deliver services; mileage reimbursed.

As an Employment Specialist (known internally as a Career Resource Specialist) you will help individuals find meaningful employment.

A typical day might include the following:

• Working with individuals to develop career goals and objectives
• Teaching individuals how to create a customized resume, fill out effective job applications, write cover letters, and prepare for interviews
• Engaging with local businesses to develop potential job opportunities
• Coaching and guiding individuals at their job sites
• Community-based travel in your personal vehicle to facilitate community-based job development and coaching, ensuring all services are delivered directly in the local environment. (mileage reimbursement provided)

Additional requirements include:

• Valid driver’s license and comfortable traveling within your local community
• Monday – Friday, daytime business hours (flexibility offered for part-time)
• Comfortable using MS Office, documenting notes in an electronic system, and accessing apps on a mobile device

Pay: $20-$23 per hour
