Job summary

Work Opportunities Unlimited in Florida seeks an Employment Specialist (Career Resource Specialist) to help individuals with disabilities find meaningful employment. You will develop career goals, coach clients on resumes and interviews, and engage with local businesses to create opportunities.

Travel in your personal vehicle is required, with mileage reimbursement. The role includes daytime hours, ESOP ownership, and opportunities for advancement through our Management Training Program.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in a public vocational rehabilitation and/or workforce development setting with individuals with disabilities.
• OR an associate’s degree and three years of experience.
• OR a bachelor’s degree and two years of experience.
• OR a master’s degree and one year of experience.
• Valid driver’s license and comfortable traveling within your local community.
• Comfortable using MS Office, documenting notes in an electronic system, and accessing apps on a mobile device.

Responsibilities

• Develop career goals with individuals and assist with resumes, applications, and interview prep.
• Engage with local businesses to create potential job opportunities.
• Coach and guide individuals at their job sites.
• Travel within the local community to deliver services in the environment; mileage reimbursement provided.

As anEmployment Specialist (known internally as a Career Resource Specialist) you will help individuals find meaningful employment. Please note that this role would require candidates to have the following experience:

Four years of experience in a public vocational rehabilitation and/or workforce development setting working with individuals with disabilities including responsibilities in job coaching and job placement ORan associate’s degree and three years of experienceORa bachelor’s degree and two years of experienceORa master’s degree and one year of experience.

A typical day might include the following:

• Working with individuals to develop career goals and objectives
• Teaching individuals how to create a customized resume, fill out effective job applications, write cover letters, and prepare for interviews
• Engaging with local businesses to develop potential job opportunities
• Coaching and guiding individuals at their job sites
• Community-based travel in your personal vehicle to facilitate community-based job development and coaching, ensuring all services are delivered directly in the local environment. (mileage reimbursement provided)

Pay: $19-$20 **room for additional compensation based on supporting clients to achieve successful outcomes**
