Job summary

Work Opportunities Unlimited (WOU) is an ESOP employee-owned organization helping people with diverse skills find meaningful jobs since 1982. As an Employment Specialist, you will support individuals in achieving their career goals with hands-on coaching.

A typical day includes resume guidance, applying for jobs, engaging local businesses for opportunities, and coaching at job sites. Travel in your own vehicle is required (mileage reimbursed) with daytime hours and potential part-time

Qualifications

• Experience in high-touch customer service environments.
• Comfortable using MS Office and documenting notes in an electronic system.
• Valid driver’s license and local travel required.
• Monday–Friday daytime hours; part-time flexibility.

• Help individuals develop career goals and objectives.
• Teach resume writing, applications, cover letters, and interview prep.
• Engage with local businesses to develop job opportunities.
• Coach individuals at job sites.

As an Employment Specialist (known internally as a Career Resource Specialist) you will help individuals find meaningful employment.

A typical day might include the following:

• Working with individuals to develop career goals and objectives
• Teaching individuals how to create a customized resume, fill out effective job applications, write cover letters, and prepare for interviews
• Engaging with local businesses to develop potential job opportunities
• Coaching and guiding individuals at their job sites
• Community‑based travel in your personal vehicle to facilitate community‑based job development and coaching, ensuring all services are delivered directly in the local environment. (mileage reimbursement provided)

Additional requirements include:

• Valid driver’s license and comfortable traveling within your local community
• Monday – Friday, daytime business hours (flexibility offered for part‑time)
• Comfortable using MS Office, documenting notes in an electronic system, and accessing apps on a mobile device

Pay: $21-$24 per hour
