Job summary

Work Opportunities Unlimited (WOU) is an employee-owned organization in Massachusetts seeking an Employment Specialist to help individuals find meaningful employment. The role includes coaching clients, teaching resume and interview skills, and engaging with local businesses to create opportunities.

The position requires a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the local community, with Monday–Friday daytime hours and potential part-time flexibility.

Qualifications

• High-touch customer service experience.
• Comfortable using MS Office and digital note-taking systems.
• Able to work independently and within a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Help individuals develop career goals and objectives.
• Teach resume writing, job applications, cover letters, and interview prep.
• Engage with local businesses to create job opportunities.
• Coach individuals at their job sites.
• Provide occasional transportation to interviews; mileage reimbursement provided.

As an Employment Specialist (known internally as a Career Resource Specialist) you will help individuals find meaningful employment.

A typical day might include the following:

• Working with individuals to develop career goals and objectives
• Teaching individuals how to create a customized resume, fill out effective job applications, write cover letters, and prepare for interviews
• Engaging with local businesses to develop potential job opportunities
• Coaching and guiding individuals at their job sites
• Provide occasional transportation to interviews and other essential employment milestones, while supporting individuals towards independent community travel. (mileage reimbursement provided)

• Valid driver’s license and comfortable traveling within your local community
