Job summary

Work Opportunities Unlimited in Boston, MA seeks an Employment Specialist (Career Resource Specialist) to help individuals with diverse skills find meaningful employment. You will coach clients on career goals, resume design, job applications, cover letters, and interview preparation.

You’ll engage with local businesses to create job opportunities, supervise on-site coaching at worksites, and provide occasional transportation for interviews with mileage reimbursement.

Qualifications

• You want to positively impact an individual’s life.
• Previous experience in high-touch customer service environments.
• Collaborative team player who can also work independently.
• Valid driver’s license and comfortable traveling within your local community.
• Monday–Friday daytime hours (flexibility for part-time).
• Comfortable using MS Office and documenting notes in an electronic system.

As an Employment Specialist (known internally as a Career Resource Specialist) you will help individuals find meaningful employment.

A typical day might include the following:

• Working with individuals to develop career goals and objectives
• Teaching individuals how to create a customized resume, fill out effective job applications, write cover letters, and prepare for interviews

• Engaging with local businesses to develop potential job opportunities

• Coaching and guiding individuals at their job sites
• Provide occasional transportation to interviews and other essential employment milestones, while supporting individuals towards independent community travel. (mileage reimbursement provided)
