Job summary

Work Opportunities Unlimited (WOU) is an ESOP company in Massachusetts dedicated to helping people with diverse abilities find meaningful employment. As an Employment Specialist, you will guide individuals to develop career goals, create tailored resumes, and connect with local employers to build opportunities.

You will coach job seekers at interviews, support community travel, and may provide occasional transportation with mileage reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Experience in high-touch customer service environments.
• Valid driver’s license and comfortable traveling within your local community.
• Able to work Monday–Friday during daytime hours; part-time flexibility available.

Responsibilities

• Coach on resume building, job applications, cover letters and interview prep.
• Engage with local businesses to create job opportunities.

As an Employment Specialist (known internally as a Career Resource Specialist) you will help individuals find meaningful employment.

A typical day might include the following:

• Working with individuals to develop career goals and objectives
• Teaching individuals how to create a customized resume, fill out effective job applications, write cover letters, and prepare for interviews
• Engaging with local businesses to develop potential job opportunities
• Coaching and guiding individuals at their job sites
• Provide occasional transportation to interviews and other essential employment milestones, while supporting individuals towards independent community travel. (mileage reimbursement provided)

Additional requirements include:

• Valid driver’s license and comfortable traveling within your local community
• Monday – Friday, daytime business hours (flexibility offered for part-time)
• Comfortable using MS Office, documenting notes in an electronic system, and accessing apps on a mobile device
