Job summary

The State of Minnesota is seeking Emergency snowplow operators in District 6A across several locations. Positions include Transportation Generalist or Transportation Associate classifications, with shifts on snow and ice events and potential overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.

CDL with good standing is required and pre-employment drug testing applies. These temporary roles may be filled as full-time or part-time, and successful applicants must pass background checks and provide reliable

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A or B CDL with no Airbrake Restriction.
• Must obtain a Class A CDL with no Airbrake Restriction and Tanker Endorsement within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Maintains roadways for snow and ice control.
• Prepares and inspects winter equipment.
• Performs preseason snow route inspection and post-storm cleanup.
• Performs winter stockpile setup and transfer of anti-icing/de-icing chemicals.
• Installs, repairs, maintains, and removes snow fences; replaces mailboxes.
• Maintain documentation on snow/ice data for inventory and resource management.
• Performs traffic control set-ups and notifies dispatch of disabled vehicles.
