Job summary

The State of Minnesota seeks Temporary Snowplow Operators for MnDOT District 6 in various Minnesota locations. Jobs are emergency, intermittent and may require night/weekend shifts, with overtime during snow events. CDL license with endorsements is mandatory, along with drug testing and DMV checks.

Prior snow/ice experience is preferred; eligibility for Connect 700 applies. Responsibilities include road maintenance for snow and ice, equipment prep, post-storm cleanup, stockpile management, and

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A or B CDL with no Airbrake Restriction or equivalent; obtain Class A CDL with no Airbrake Restriction and Tanker Endorsement within 6 months.
• Working knowledge of English to read, write, speak and understand information; communicate with staff and public.

Responsibilities

• Maintain roadways for snow and ice control.
• Inspect and prepare winter equipment.
• Perform preseason snow route inspections and post-storm cleanup.
• Manage snow/ice stockpile and de-icing chemicals.
• Install/repair/maintain snow fences and mailboxes.
• Document snow/ice data for inventory and reporting.
• Set up traffic controls and notify dispatch of incidents.
