The State of Minnesota is seeking Temporary Snowplow Operators within MnDOT District 6A across multiple locations. Roles include Transportation Generalist or Transportation Associate with varying shifts during snow and ice events.

Work may include nights, weekends, and holidays, with the potential for overtime and emergency deployment. Positions emphasize safety, CDL compliance, and readiness for rapid reporting.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A or B CDL with no Airbrake Restriction from any state and obtain Class A CDL with no Airbrake Restriction and Tanker Endorsement within 6 months of placement.
• Incumbent is subject to drug and alcohol testing.
• Must be registered in the FMCSA CDL Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.

Responsibilities

• Maintains snow and ice control on roadways.
• Prepares and inspects winter equipment.
• Performs preseason snow route inspection and post-storm cleanup.
• Handles winter stockpile setup and de-icing chemical transfer.
• Installs, repairs, maintains, and removes snow fences and mailboxes.
• Maintains documentation on snow/ice data for inventory and resource management.
• Performs traffic control setups and notifies dispatch of disabled vehicles.
