Job summary

State of Minnesota seeks Temporary Snowplow Operators to support MnDOT District 6A with snow and ice operations across multiple locations.

Positions include Transportation Generalist and Transportation Associate classifications; eligibility requires a valid CDL, no airbrake restriction, and ability to pass pre-employment checks. Shifts include night, weekend, and holiday coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with no Airbrake Restriction or equivalent from another state and obtain it with Tanker Endorsement within 6 months.
• Incumbent will be subject to drug and alcohol testing including preplacement drug test.
• Working knowledge of English sufficient to read, write, speak and understand information.

Responsibilities

• Maintains roadways for snow and ice control.
• Prepares and inspects winter equipment.
• Performs preseason snow route inspection and post-storm cleanup.
• Performs winter stockpile setup and transfer of anti-icing and de-icing chemicals.
• Maintains snow fences and mailboxes; documents inventory and resources.
