Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to obtain detailed medication histories for ED patients and document them in the EHR for pharmacist review. You will work closely with ED staff to verify medication lists and allergies, and may perform inpatient technician duties as needed.

The role requires a High School diploma, a CPhT certification, and current NJ pharmacy registration within 6 months. Excellent communication, accuracy, and adaptability to high work volumes are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; CPhT certification required.
• Two years Pharmacy Technician experience required; PTCB history preferred.
• Strong communication and attention to detail; proficient with computers and EHR.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed interviews with patients/families to compile a list of current medications.
• Prompt for OTC meds and supplements during history collection.
• Verify regimens with outpatient pharmacies and providers as needed.
• Obtain and document allergy history in the EHR for review.
• Precept pharmacy technicians, students, and residents during home medication interviews.
• Participate in Leap Frog data collection related to medication reconciliation.
• Perform inpatient pharmacy technician tasks if necessary.
