Job summary

Capital Health is seeking an Emergency Department Pharmacy Technician to obtain patient medication histories, document in the EHR, and support pharmacists and ED staff. The role emphasizes accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent communication with patients and families.

The position requires a CPhT certification, a high school diploma, and at least two years of pharmacy technician experience, with flexibility to cover shifts as needed in a fast-paced ED environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; CPhT certification required.
• Current NJ Board of Pharmacy Registration or eligibility within 6 months.
• Two years Pharmacy Technician experience required; PTCB certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct interviews with patients and families to compile a complete home medication list.
• Verify medication regimens with outpatient pharmacies and providers; investigate discrepancies.
• Record medication and allergy information into the EHR for pharmacist and physician review.
• Perform inpatient pharmacy technician duties as needed.
• Precept pharmacy technicians, students, and residents on home medication interviews.
• Participate in Leap Frog data collection related to medication reconciliation.
