Capital Health System, Inc. seeks a Pharmacy Technician for the Emergency Department to obtain patient medication histories and document them in the EHR for pharmacist review. You will interview patients or families, verify regimens with pharmacies, and coordinate with ED staff.

Requirements include a high school diploma, a CPhT certification, and 2 years of technician experience. NJ registration or progression toward it within six months is expected. Inpatient duties may be required as needed.

Competenze

• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT) certification is required.
• Current NJ Board of Pharmacy Registration or registration to be acquired within 6 months of employment.
• Two years Pharmacy Technician experience required.
• PTCB Medication History certification is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; attention to detail.

Mansioni

• Interview patients and caregivers to compile an accurate list of current home medications.
• Document medication and allergy history into the Electronic Health Record for review.
• Obtain allergy history, reaction type and severity for medications or substances.
• Communicate completion of medication history to ED pharmacist, physician and nursing staff.
• Performs all duties of inpatient pharmacy technician if necessary.
