Job summary

UAB Medicine's Emergency Department at UAB Hospital is expanding and hiring nurses to join a large, advanced team. The new space features CT, X-ray, echo ultrasound, and teleadmission processes designed for efficiency and safety.

Applicants should have RN licensure in Alabama, a nursing degree, and strong critical care skills. The role offers varied shifts, robust benefits, and PSLF eligibility where applicable.

Qualifications

• 3 years or more of nursing experience preferred.
• 2+ years experience preferred in psychiatric or correctional nursing.
• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• If in FSED, 1 year of emergency or ICU nursing experience required.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as an RN by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS and/or PALS may be required depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to care for individuals in health maintenance and prevention.
• Guide data gathering, assessment, nursing judgment, intervention and evaluation.
• Deliver patient care in collaboration with the care team and licensed physicians.
• Delegate, coordinate and manage all aspects of nursing care.
