Job summary

UAB Medicine is expanding its Emergency Department at UAB Hospital in Alabama and seeks RNs to join a large, high-capacity ED. The role involves applying the nursing process to promote health, prevent illness, and provide comprehensive care in a fast-paced setting.

Qualified candidates have a nursing degree, are licensed, and may have experience in psychiatric or emergency nursing. The team benefits from a robust education program, PTO, and PSLF-eligible programs.

Qualifications

• 3 years or more of nursing experience preferred.
• 2+ years of experience preferred in psychiatric nursing, psychiatric emergency nursing, or correctional nursing.
• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to care for individuals and counsel on health maintenance and illness prevention.
• Identify patient needs using the AACN Synergy Model and delegate, coordinate, and manage nursing care.
• Deliver patient care in collaboration with patients, families, and the health care team under physician, psychologist, podiatrist, or dentist supervision.
