Job summary

UAB Medicine is expanding its Emergency Department at UAB Hospital, Alabama’s first ACS-verified Level I Adult Trauma Center. We’re hiring additional team members for a state-of-the-art space with CT, X-ray, echo, and teleadmission capabilities. You’ll join a large ED team in a mission-driven organization.

The role requires RN licensure in Alabama, BLS certification, and preferred ICU/ED experience. Full-time and part-time shifts available, including days and nights.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of nursing experience preferred.
• 2+ years in psychiatric nursing or psychiatric emergency nursing or correctional nursing preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program is required; a Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.
• If in an ED (FSED), 1 year of emergency or ICU nursing experience is required.
• Current license or eligibility as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Alabama required.
• BLS certification required or to be obtained within 30 days; ACLS and/or PALS may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process for health promotion and illness prevention.
• Coordinate and manage all aspects of nursing care in collaboration with patients, families, and physicians.
• Deliver patient care with the healthcare team to support life and comfort.
