Job summary

UAB Medicine in Alabama is expanding its Emergency Department and recruiting registered nurses to deliver high-quality care in a large, high-acuity setting. You will apply the nursing process to promote health, with AACN Synergy-based assessments and collaboration across physicians, therapists, and the care team.

The role supports full-time and part-time schedules with AM/PM shifts, weekend coverage, and a robust benefits package including educational assistance and PSLF eligibility.

Qualifications

• 3 years or more of nursing experience preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• If job is in a free-standing emergency department (FSED) location, one year of emergency or ICU nursing experience is required.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• Depending on the unit/department, ACLS and/or PALS from the AHA may be required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to care for and counsel patients.
• Identify patient needs using AACN Synergy Model.
• Delegate, coordinate and manage all aspects of nursing care in collaboration with the health care team.
