Job summary
UAB Medicine is expanding its Emergency Department at UAB Hospital in Alabama. We are hiring additional RNs to support a large, advanced ED with CT, X-ray, echo ultrasound and teleadmission capabilities. Roles include full-time and part-time shifts across day and night, with weekend options.
The ideal candidate has 3+ years of nursing, Alabama RN licensure, BLS and possibly ACLS/PALS. Benefits include PSLF eligibility, educational assistance, substantial PTO, EAP and wellness programs.
Qualifications
- 3 years or more of nursing experience preferred.
- 2+ years of experience preferred in psychiatric nursing, psychiatric emergency nursing, or correctional nursing.
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required depending on unit/department.
Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to care for and counsel individuals in health promotion and illness prevention.
- Guide data gathering, assessment, nursing judgment, intervention and evaluation.
- Delegate, coordinate and manage all aspects of nursing care with the patient, family and health care team.
