Job summary

The role requires an associate degree in a related field or 4 years of equivalent experience, plus at least 1 year in healthcare registration. Training includes one week of training, 8 AM–5 PM, then evening shadowing in the department.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; 4 years related experience permitted in lieu.
• 1 year healthcare registration experience required.
• CHAA certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Utilize tools to enter required information for registration into the electronic health system.
• Review demographic and insurance information for completeness and correct deficiencies.
• Ensure EMTALA compliant registration steps for ED patients.
• Identify patients with critical symptoms and activate clinical protocols.
• Obtain all regulatory signatures as required.
• Document insurance verification details, deductibles, copays, and policy limits; calculate patient liability.
• Demonstrate strong customer service behaviors for all patients and visitors.
• Assist patients to their destination and manage visitor flow per policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
