Responsibilities

• Register patients and enter demographic, financial, regulatory and medical information into the EHR.
• Verify insurance information, collect payments and document patient liabilities for payer review.
• Ensure EMTALA compliant registration steps for ED patients.
• Identify patients with critical symptoms and activate appropriate protocols.
• Obtain all required regulatory signatures and verify records for completeness.
• Assist patients to destinations and manage visitor flow per hospital policy.
• Document insurance verification details accurately in the EHR.
