Job summary

Jacksonville ER is seeking a Patient Service Representative for mid-shift, part-time hours. The role focuses on smooth patient check-in and check-out, accurate demographic collection, and billing support in a busy Emergency Center.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of ER or hospital PSR experience, strong communication, and a commitment to confidentiality and patient safety while maintaining a welcoming environment for patients and families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years as Patient Access/PSR in a Hospital, ER, or Clinic.
• Previous experience in medical registration, admitting, and scheduling in an ER setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Front Desk Operations: greet patients, determine needed services, collect demographics, ensure signatures for billing.
• Financial Responsibilities: collect payments for co-pays and balances; reconcile accounts.
• Facility Cleanliness: assist in maintaining clean and welcoming patient areas and restrooms.
• Communication Skills: interact courteously with patients, families, physicians, and staff; uphold core values.
• Professional Development: attend monthly staff meetings and participate in performance improvement.
• Other Duties: assist management with additional tasks or projects as needed.
• Nonessential: stock supplies; assist with patient restraint procedures as required; attend scheduled meetings.
