Public Safety Dispatch Network is seeking a 911 Call Taker to handle emergency and nonemergency calls, verify incident details, and document information for responders. You will work within a structured process, using dispatch software and scripts to ensure timely communication and safety.

Candidates should have strong listening and typing skills, clear communication, and the ability to follow procedures. Training and certification are provided, with rotating shifts and on-site work expectations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; prior customer service or public safety experience preferred.
• Strong listening, typing speed, and clear verbal communication essential.
• Ability to follow structured procedures and complete assessments per agency guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming emergency calls and assigned nonemergency lines.
• Confirm incident location and caller contact information.
• Use approved questions to identify nature and urgency of situations.
• Enter accurate details into call-processing or dispatch software.
• Forward incident information promptly to the appropriate dispatch function.
• Help distressed callers focus on essential questions and instructions.
• Use language-access and accessibility resources when needed.
• Provide authorized pre-arrival instructions only within training.
